Croydon & Sutton GLA Candidate

I am an experienced campaigner that has won in marginal seats, and I am used to balancing multiple demands on my time between being a councillor, charity worker, running my own business and being a mum.

During my time in the council I was Civic Mayor throughout Covid, and have been Deputy Cabinet Member for Children and Young People.

My life’s passion is tackling child poverty and I think City Hall is a brilliant place to do this from – just look at Sadiq’s universal free school meals and the difference that has made.

My Campaign

There is no doubt about it, this seat would be a hard one to win but I believe it’s possible.

It is made up of 2 very different boroughs. Consequently the most important thing we need to win the seat is to have someone who understands those needs.

The council ward I was elected in had been Tory for 100 years before I took it achieving a 9% swing and have retained twice since. I believe this proves that I know to win marginals.

The Tories will be a running a very negative campaign so our focus should be on offering a positive reason to vote Labour.

This will mean having a strong local offer for both Sutton and Croydon. Whether helping people directly with the cost of living crisis, supporting the local hospitals or campaigning to redevelop Croydon Town centre - together we can win!
